SALEM, Oregon – Stellan Roberts scored a career-high 31 points, but the Puget Sound men's basketball team came up short at Willamette, 98-87, Saturday night.
Roberts' career nigh included 10-for-17 shooting from the floor, and 9-for-9 from the free-throw line. He also came up big on the defensive end, recording five steals in the game.
Cal Hansen came up one rebound shy of a double-double, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds. Jimmy Wohrer shot 7-for-13 from the floor for 20 points, and Gabriel Chaikin (11 points) scored in double figures for the fifth consecutive game.
Although the Loggers shot the ball well (45.6 percent) and took care of the rock (eight turnovers), Willamette owned the boards, 41-27.
The Loggers return home to host No. 2 Whitman Friday, Feb. 15, at 8 p.m.
