TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's soccer team is set to play cross-town rival Pacific Lutheran to close out the regular season on Saturday.

Puget Sound's Last Weekend

The Loggers (9-7-2, 7-4-2) drew with George Fox 1-1 on Saturday, before falling 1-0 to Pacific on Sunday. Benjamin Whitham scored for Puget Sound on Saturday.  

Logger Leaders

Josh Sonico leads Puget Sound with six goals, while Cameron Lorek and Sam Zisette both have scored five times. Zisette also leads the squad with seven assists, which is tied for most in the Northwest Conference. Goalkeeper Daniel Kirsch is 9-6-1 on the year, making 60 saves with a 1.34 goals-against average.  

Student-Athlete of the Week

Josh Sonico was named the Northwest Conference Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week on Sept. 22. The senior scored three goals in the Loggers victory over Pacific. He also assisted Zisette's golden goal in overtime of Puget Sound's win against George Fox. Cameron Lorek then won the same award Oct. 6 after scoring in both weekend games. His goal against Linfield on Sunday was the game-winner.

Scouting the Lutes (15-4, 11-2 NWC)

Pacific Lutheran University is located in Parkland, Washington, and the team competes in the Northwest Conference. The Lutes have won their last seven games, most recently defeating George Fox 8-1. Eddie Na leads the squad with 11 goals, while Bennett Bugbee has seven assists. Goalkeeper Ricardo Sotelo is 14-4, making 49 saves with a 0.81 goals-against average with five shutouts.
