The team from Parkland visits Tacoma for men's soccer match

TACOMA, Washington – Following a Homecoming weekend in which the opposition didn't score, the Puget Sound men's soccer team hosts one more Northwest Conference game against Pacific Lutheran Friday, Oct. 5, at 3:30 p.m.

Shutting the door

Backed by senior goalie Wren Norwood, the Loggers have not allowed a goal through the past 246 minutes of game time.  The Loggers reached a scoreless tie against Pacific (Sept. 28), and bear George Fox, 2-0, the following day (Sept. 29). The last goal allowed by the Loggers was in the first half of a 1-0 loss at Whitman (Sept. 23).


Use the force, Luke

Luke Murdock – the Loggers' leading scorer with five goals – has the third-highest points total in the NWC with 12. His most recent goal stood as the game-winner against George Fox (Sept. 29).


Three's company

Three Loggers rank in the conference's top 10 for total points: Luke Murdock is fourth with 12 points, followed by Dane Schatz in sixth with nine points, and Cale Spence in eighth with eight points.


Working twice as hard

Puget Sound has reached double-overtime twice this season, but the Loggers are 0-1-2 in games that play into extra periods.


Scouting Pacific Lutheran (8-4-0, 4-2-0 NWC)

The Lutes come to Tacoma having won four of their last five games. One of those four wins was a 7-1 triumph over George Fox. Joe Sammartino is the league's second-leading scorer with six goals, and RJ Noll leads the league in saves with 39. PLU is ranked second in the NWC in scoring with 24 goals.
