TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound senior forward Luke Murdock wasted little time in asserting his offensive prowess in 2019. The reigning Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year scored a pair of goals during the men's soccer team's opening weekend, and he received the school year's first Logger Club Logger of the Week honor.
The Loggers were trailing Augsburg, 1-0, when Murdock evened the score with a penalty kick in the 49th minute (Aug. 30). The Loggers and Auggies reached a 1-1 tie after two overtime periods.
Two days later, Murdock scored the Loggers' third goal in a 3-0 victory over Cal Lutheran (Sept. 1).
Last year, Murdock led the NWC in scoring with 11 goals and 25 points.
Puget Sound returns home to host Multnomah, Sept. 7, at 3:30 p.m. on East Field.
