FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Luke Murdock scored for the first time in five games, but the Puget Sound men's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision at Pacific Sunday afternoon.
Murdock, the 2018 Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Year, scored his team-leading eighth goal of 2019. The Puget Sound (9-6-3, 6-6-1 NWC) senior buried a shot in the lower-left corner in the 89th minute.
The Boxers (3-12-3, 2-8-2 NWC) scored both of their goals within a two-minute span midway through the first half.
Despite scoring just one goal, the Loggers' offense was efficient. Puget Sound put 11 of 18 shots on net. Angel Herrera-Flores put three of his four shots on goal, while Murdock put all four of his attempts on target.
The Loggers finished with 11 shots on goal in 18 total shots.
The 2019 finale is Saturday, Nov. 9, when Puget Sound celebrates its senior before kicking off against Pacific Lutheran at 1:30 p.m. on East Field.
