FOREST GROVE, Oregon – The Puget Sound men's and women's swimming teams continued to shine at the three-day Northwest Conference Championships hosted by Pacific. Through the second day of competition, both Logger teams are in fourth place. The men have 297 points, while the women have 290 points.
Melissa Norrish picked up a first place finish for the Logger women as she won the 400 individual medley by nearly four seconds, timing in at 4:31.28. Norrish was also a member of the second-place 800 freestyle relay team. She was joined by Alex Koga, Ally Hembree and Melisa Kegans. They recorded a time of 7:47.73. Koga, Hembree and Kegans were also on the second place 200 medley relay team, along with Auri Clark, that finished in 1:48.66. Also for the Logger women, Sam Anders picked up a third-place finish in the100 backstroke (59.13).
The conference championships conclude on Sunday.
