SALEM, Oregon – The Puget Sound men's and women's swim teams both beat Willamette on Saturday afternoon. The men were victorious, 120-85, and the women won, 118-87.
The Logger relay teams set the tone early in the meet. For the first event of the day, the Puget Sound women's 200-yard medley relay team (Alex Koga Anne Shirey, Roxanna Trissel, Kai Haven), won with a time of 1:57.84. The men's 200 medley relay team (Mitch Kilgore, Ian Conery, Evan Hamamoto, Caleb Van Boven) won the meet's second event, finishing in 1:40.73.
Carmen Mena won both the women's 1,650 freestyle (19:10.58) and the 500 freestyle (5:37.43). Kilgore was victorious in two men's freestyle events: the 100 (50.85) and the 50 (23.00).
Nick Mitchell – Puget Sound's reigning Logger of the Week – won the men's 500 freestyle (5:01.17) and finished second in the 200 freestyle (1:50.05). The Loggers' Dylan Reimers won the 200 freestyle by touching the wall in 1:48.91.
The Logger teams are off for a few weeks before hosting the three-day Logger Invitational starting on Dec. 2.
