MOSCOW, Idaho - With over 1000 athletes entered, the Puget Sound Loggers competed at the Vandal Open and Runners Soul Open on Friday and Saturday at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho.
On Friday night, the Loggers had three student-athletes competing in the triple jump. In the women's event, Chloe Hunt (Springfield, Ore.) took 12th with a mark of 10.35m. In the men's event, Alec DiMario (Lake Forest, Ill.) jumped 12.46m for 12th place while Jimmy Ivory (Seattle, Wash./Federal Way) just 12.06m to take 16th.
On Saturday, the Loggers had 31 entries in the meet that featured over 100 heats. In the one mile run, Carrie Keith (Erie, Colo./Monarch) took eighth with a time of 5:44.42. Sophomore Hayley Walker (Cambria, Calif./Coast Union) took fourth in the 5000m run with a time of 19:32.13.
In the men's events, senior Francis Reynolds (Palo Alto, Calif.) took sixth in the one mile run with a time of 4:28.79. DiMario took 10th in the long jump with a mark of 6.22m.
The Loggers will be in action again on Friday night when they head up to Seattle to take part in the Husky Classic.
