SEATTLE – A handful of Loggers opened the indoor season for the Puget Sound women's track & field team. Andrea Leiken headlined the opening meet with a school record in the 400m dash.
Leiken broke her own school record in the 400m with a 59.49 to finish 12th of 31 runners from all three division of the NCAA. Alicia Burns also ran in the 800m and posted a 2:31.09. Her time placed fifth on the Loggers all-time indoor list.
Meg Gilbertson and Brenda Seymour teamed up with Leiken and Burns in the 4x400m relay, finishing with a time of 4:18.69 in 11th place.
The Loggers will next compete at the Vandal Invitational and Runners Open in Mosow, Idaho on Feb. 3-4.
