Whitehall Breaks Indoor School Record At UW Open

SEATTLE, Wash. – Freshman Allanah Whitehall set the indoor school record in 60-meter dash to highlight the Puget Sound track & field teams' day at the UW Indoor Open.

Whitehall finished the 60m with a time of 8.14 to break the Logger record. Elizabeth King and Jon Lee also had some standout performances that finished as the second all-time best performance in Logger indoor history.

King recorded her personal-best in the pole vault with a vault of 3.17 meters (10-feet-4.75 inches). Lee's top performance came in the triple jump with a mark of 13.68 meters (44-feet, 10.75-inches). Chris Lee wasn't far behind with a triple jump mark of 13.46 meters (44-feet, two-inches).

Sierra Grunwald had a personal-best 5:16.73 in the mile, which ranks third all-time on the Loggers indoor list. Taili Ni also had a personal-best in the 3,000 meter run with a 10:57.41.

Matt Klein had another strong performance in the 3,000-meter run with a personal-best 8:53.48.

The Loggers will now take the next few weeks to prepare for the outdoor season. They will host their first outdoor meet on Mar. 2.
