ELLENSBURG, Washington – Allanah Whitehall continued her outstanding sprinting season by picking up two first-place finishes at the Spike Arlt Invitational on Saturday. In the team results, the Puget Sound men's team was ninth (25 points) and women's team placed six (52.5 points).
Whitehall won the 100-meter dash (12.06) and 200-meter dash (25.13). She won the events easily, beating out the competition in the 100-m by nearly half a second and in the 200-m by more than half a second. The Logger women came away with five other top-five finishes. Freshman, Shelby Kantner was third in the triple jump (10.76-m) while the 4x100-meter relay team finished third as well. The relay team comprised of Logan Bays, Mara Cummings, Anna Joseph and Whitehall crossed the line in 49.35. In the pole vault, Elizabeth King finished fourth, clearing 3.20-m. Terra Wildon was fifth in the women's 800-m run (2:27.81) and Kai Hundemer picked up a fifth-place finish as well in the 3000-m steeplechase (13:42.09).
Central Washington won the team totals on both the men's (256 points) and women's (284 points) side, well ahead of second-place Eastern Oregon.
Puget Sound looks to leave its mark when the Loggers head to George Fox for the Northwest Conference Championships on Friday, April 24 at 2pm.
