Braithwaite takes fourth place at NWC Multi Events

NEWBERG, OregonCameron Braithwaite placed fourth overall in the Northwest Conference Multi Events hosted by George Fox on Monday and Tuesday. The junior from Port Angeles, Washington totaled 6,060 points. George Fox's Alex Conchola won the Multi Events with 6,495 points.


In the first event, Braithwaite placed second in 100-m dash with a time of 11.41 seconds. He followed that with a second-place finish in the long jump, clearing 6.72 meters. Braithwaite also took second in the 400-m, timing in at 51.34 seconds. He continued to perform well in running events, claiming third place in the 110-m hurdles (16.49).

Braithwaite sat in first place through six events with 4,042 points.

Braithwaite won the pole vault by clearing 4.50 meters. That mark is the seventh-best in Puget Sound history. Through eight events, Braithwaite remained in first place. A 13-place finish in the javelin proved to be costly.
