TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's basketball team is set to begin their Northwest Conference schedule when they travel to Pacific Lutheran on Tuesday, December 1.

Puget Sound's Last Weekend

The Loggers (4-2) played in the David Wells Classic hosted by Claremont-M-S. Puget Sound defeated Pomona-Pitzer 84-67 on Friday evening, before defeating CMS 76-67 on Saturday.

Logger Leaders

Emily Sheldon is scoring 19.2 points per game for Puget Sound this season. Claire Fitzgerald (10.5 ppg, 4.8 rpg), Alex Noren (11.3 ppg), and Samone Jackson (11.0 ppg, 3.2 rpg) are also averaging double-figure scoring. Noren leads the squad in rebounding (7.7 rpg), and has recorded a double-double in two games.

Student-Athlete of the Week

Emily Sheldon, a 2014-15 All-Northwest First Team Selection, was named the season's first NWC Student-Athlete of the Week after averaging 21.3 points through the first three games of 2015-16.

Fresh Start

Freshman Samone Jackson has scored in double-figures in four out of the first six games she has played to begin her Puget Sound career.

Scouting the Lutherans (1-1)

Pacific Lutheran University is located in Parkland, Washington, and the team competes in the Northwest Conference. The Lutes opened their season at the Doug McArthur Classic. They initially lost to St. Thomas (76-62), before defeating Hardin-Simmons (72-61). The team is scoring 67.0 points per game with a field goal percentage of 35.9. Megan Abdo (13.5 ppg, 6.5 rpg) and Ionna Price (13.5 ppg, 5.0 rpg) lead the team in scoring, while Lacey Nicholson leads PLU with 8.5 rebounds per game.
