Loggers come up short against the Wildcats

MCMINNVILLE, Oregon –Three Loggers recorded double digit points in 68-52 loss to Linfield in McMinnville, Saturday evening.  

The Loggers ended the first quarter with a two-point lead over Linfield, but the Wildcats tied up the match, 28-28, with six seconds remaining before halftime with a made jumper by Genna Hughes.

Elizabeth Prewitt got the Loggers on the board first in the third quarter after sinking a jump shot in the first minute of play. Shortly after the Wildcats went on an eight-point run, establishing their lead.

Linfield held onto their lead for the rest of the game.

Jamie Lange lead the offense with 18 points, but Prewitt and Cassidy Daugherty also recorded double digit points.

Puget Sound tallied 33 rebounds, eight of which were recorded by Lange.

The Loggers return home to take on crosstown rival, Pacific Lutheran on Tuesday, Jan. 16, at 6 p.m.
