TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound women's basketball Northwest Conference season begins Tuesday, Nov. 27, when Pacific Lutheran travels from Parkland, Washington to Memorial Fieldhouse for a 6 p.m. tipoff.

Two out of three
Puget Sound won two of its first three games this season, including a victory at Multnomah (Nov. 10) and a home win against Warner Pacific (Nov. 23). The lone loss was against Trinity (Tex.) as part of the Doug McArthur Classic (Nov. 17).
Out of Loggers to play in all three games this season, Elizabeth Prewitt leads the team in scoring with 17.7 points per game, and Gia Sorn follows with 16.0 points per game. Sorn is also the leading rebounder with 7.3 boards per game.
Puget Sound leads the Northwest Conference in field-goal percentage with a 50.3 percent mark. Gia Sorn leads the conference with a 64.5 field-goal percentage, and Elizabeth Prewitt is fifth with a 55.0 percent mark.
Beasts on the boards
Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran are tied for the NWC lead in team rebounding with 44.0 rebounds per game. The Loggers' 31.3 defensive rebounds rank first in the NWC, and PLU's 18.5 offensive boards per game leads the conference.

Two Loggers rank among the NWC's top 10 leaders in assists per game. Mara Henderson averages a team-high 4.0 assists per game (fourth in NWC). RaeAnn Allen averages 3.7 assists per game, which is 10th in the conference.
After a 2018 women's soccer season in which she earned her second consecutive NWC Defensive Player of the Year honor, two-sport student-athlete Jamie Lange returned to the hardwood against Warner Pacific (Nov. 23). Lange scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds against the Knights. She was an All-NWC First Team member and D3hoops.com All-West Region honoree last year.
Scouting Pacific Lutheran (1-1, 0-0 NWC)
The team from Parkland has two similar opponents as Puget Sound, and similar results against those teams. The Lutes lost to Trinity (Tex.), 57-66, Nov. 16. PLU beat Warmer Pacific, 78-65, Nov. 24. Three Lutes are averaging double figures in scoring: Megan Drake (15.0), Emma Janousek (14.5), and Madison Salisbury (10.5). Salisbury is also averaging a team-high 12.0 rebounds.
