TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound Premier ended in dramatic fashion, but the Puget Sound volleyball team came up short in both of its matches on Saturday.

For the second time in as many days, the Loggers (1-3) battled through five sets, this time against Oregon Institute of Technology in the tournament finale. One day after beating Corban in five sets, however, Puget Sound fell to the Owels (25-19, 23-25, 8-25, 25-19, 14-16).

The fifth and final set was closely contested as neither team led by more than one point until OIT walked off with a 16-14 victory in the set and a 3-2 triumph in the match. Emily Convery led Puget Sound with 13 kills and Moira McVicar posted a game-high 35 assists.

Earlier in the day, the Loggers lost to cross-town rival Pacific Lutheran in three sets (17-25, 23-25, 18-25).

Both McVicar and Convery werenamed to the All-Tournament Team. McVicar tallied 106 assists through four game, and Convery posted 36 kills during the tournament.
