McVicar totals 53 assists in Loggers' 3-1 win at Willamette

TACOMA, WashingtonMoira McVicar totaled a career-high 53 assists and three Loggers posted double-digit kills as the Puget Sound volleyball team came away with a 3-1 win (25-22, 25-20, 24-26, 25-22) at Willamette on Friday night.

"Getting a road win early in conference play is a big accomplishment for our young team," said Puget Sound head coach Mark Massey. "We significantly increased our offensive production tonight."

The Loggers (3-9, 2-1 NWC) finished the night with a season-high .296 kill percentage while McVicar, a freshman from El Dorado Hills, California, continued to set up her teammates well. She has recorded at least 30 assists in four of Puget Sound's last five games.
 

Senior Nicolette Reynaud led the Loggers with 17 kills, while Emily Convery added 14. Shawna Smith recorded her second double-double of the season with 10 kills and 12 digs.

Puget Sound continues its Northwest Conference road schedule at Lewis & Clark on Saturday, Sept. 27, at 7 p.m.
