FOREST GROVE, Oregon – Kristen Miguel's team-high 11 kills weren't enough as the Puget Sound volleyball team came up short at Pacific, 3-1 (25-21, 14-25, 25-23, 25-23), Saturday evening.
Miguel reached double-digit kills for the third time season, and she hit .290 against the Boxers (10-1, 4-0 NWC). Moira McVicar led the Loggers (5-6, 2-2 NWC) with 32 assists, tallying more than 30 for the second consecutive game.
After dropping the first set by four points, the Loggers came back strong and won the second set by 11 points. A 5-0 run, aided by four Boxer errors, early in the set allowed the Loggers to take a 10-4 lead. A kill by Maddie Lage sparked a 4-0 Puget Sound run to build the lead to 16-7. The Loggers' final three points of the set all came off Pacific errors.
Puget Sound's road schedule continues at Willamette on Friday, Sept. 29, at 7 p.m.
