Volleyball head coach Mark Massey announces new Loggers

TACOMA, Washington – Puget Sound volleyball head coach Mark Massey welcomes eight new members to the program. The new Loggers have a chance to make an immediate impact, as the young 2019 squad does not consist of any seniors.




Chloe Akiona-Bannan, Libero/Outside

Kailua, O'ahu Hawaii / Kamehameha Schools Kapālama

Coach Massey: "Chloe is a former Hawaii State Champion and USA High Performance athlete who will immediately impact the game with superior ball control and focus. She is an ILH Division 1 All-Star, and is as impactful the classroom as she is on the court."




Emma Bacchus, DS/Outside

Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada / Bev Facey

Coach Massey: "Emma is the Bev Facey school "Athlete of the Year," City All-Star, and driving force on a top Canadian Provincial team. She brings the kind of versatility and inner strength to competition that makes everyone around her better."




Cara Bolte, Opposite

Honolulu, Hawaii / Maryknoll

Coach Massey: "Cara is an immovable object as a blocker, and a remarkable force in transition swings. She played with incoming teammate Chloe on the top 17's club team in Hawaii, and is also a Division 1 All-Star in the legendary ILH league in Honolulu."




Keiana Bonawitz, Setter/Opposite

Vancouver, Wash. / Mountain View

Coach Massey: "Keiana is a versatile setter who brings All-League, All-Region, and Most-Inspirational credentials to the competitive table."




Tallie Davison, Outside

West Linn, Ore. / St. Mary's Academy

Coach Massey: "Tallie is a big-jumping, heavy-hitting All-League selection from the always-tough Portland area. She also pounded her way to Nationals with her always-powerful Adidas NW club team."



Maggie Jones, Middle

St. Paul, Minn. / Nova Classical Academy

Coach Massey: "Maggie is a talented All-Conference, All-State middle attacker from Minnesota. Her exceptional leadership skills are reflected in the self-sufficient wilderness canoe trips she leads during the summer months."




Tannis Norton, Outside

N. Hollywood, Calif. / Village Christian School

Coach Massey: "Tannis used her lightning-fast swings to help drive her high school team to a California Division 2 CIF State Title, and she helped lead the San Gabriel Elite club team to Nationals. Tannis is a former soccer player and Spokane native returning to her PNW roots."




Jena Williams, Outside

Seattle, Wash. / Roosevelt

Coach Massey: "Jena is a superior six-rotation player who brings exceptional decision-making skills into pressure situations. Her excellent ball-control abilities helped power her Seattle Juniors club team to a Nationals berth."
