TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound men's cross country team opened the 2015 season by winning the Puget Sound Invitational on Saturday morning, while the women's team finished in third.
The Logger men claimed the top two individual finishes, led by Tyler Shipley's time of 26:09. Geremia Lizier-Zmudzinski took second place by crossing the finish line in 26:11. Sam Carilli and Andrew Langtry both finished in the top-10 for Puget Sound. Carilli took sixth place (28:15) and Langtry came in seventh (28:18).
Taili Ni took second place overall in the women's race, timing in at 23:18. Tori Klein took 10th place by crossing the line in 25:41. Saint Martin's won the women's competition, followed by Pacific Lutheran in second place.
The Loggers next compete in the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle on Sept. 19.
