TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound cross country teams are set to race in the 42nd Charles Bowles Willamette Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 1.
Willamette hosts 31 four-year colleges and universities, including men's and women's teams across all three NCAA divisions, at Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon. The men's 8k is set to begin at 9:30 a.m., and the women's 5k starts at 10:20 a.m.
Last year's race
The Logger men placed fourth out of 15 teams and the women finished 12th out of 18 teams during the 2015 Chuck Bowles Invitational. Geremia Lizier-Zmudzinski (25:01.00) finished second overall in the men's race, and Alison Wise (19:46.60) was the Puget Sound women's second finisher.
Earlier this season
Tori Klein finished with Puget Sound's No. 12 all-time finish by timing in at 22:40.10 during the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle on Sept. 17. Terra Wildon also set a personal-best by timing in at 24:21.30. Geremia Lizier-Zmudzinski set the pace for the Loggers by finishing in 25:30.60, good for 38th out of 291 runners. Lizier-Zmudzinski was the top men's finisher during the first meet of the season in the Puget Sound Invitational.
