TACOMA, Washington – The Puget Sound cross country teams join 30 other four-year colleges and universities in the 43rd annual Charles Bowles Invitational, hosted by Willamette, at Bush Park in Salem, Oregon, on Saturday, Sept. 30. The men's 8k begins at 9:30 a.m., and the women's 5k starts at 10:20 a.m.
The Logger women remain ranked No. 7 in the West Region, according to this week's U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association poll. Puget Sound holds on to the spot for the second consecutive week, despite not competing last week.
Last year's Charles Bowles Invitational
Both Logger teams placed 17th overall in the 2016 Charles Bowles Invitational. Isaac Fournier was the top finisher for the Puget Sound men, timing in at 26:34.40, good for 68th out of 168 runners. Emma Hatton placed 94th out of 189 runners, timing in at 19:57.5.
Keep an eye on…
In addition to Fournier and Hatton, Samantha Schaffer, Rachel Meztler, and Liam Monaghan look to have a strong race this weekend. Schaffer and Metzler ran the No. 13 and No. 16 best times, respectively, in Puget Sound history during the Sundodger Invitational. Schaffer timed in at 22:41.97, and Metlzer finished in 22:45.36. Monaghan finished with personal-best time of 26:57.61.
