Schaffer, Monaghan lead Logger cross country teams

ESTACADA, Oregon – The Puget Sound women's cross country team placed sixth, and the Logger men finished 10th, in the Lewis & Clark Invitational at McIver Park on Saturday.


Samantha Schaffer paced the Logger women with a time of 22:36.3, which was good for 13th out of 128 runners. Rachael Metzler was the next Logger to cross the finish line, timing in at 23.23.1, which was good for 34th overall. Terra Wildon finished close behind at 37th overall, with a time of 23:38.4. 

Liam Monaghan was the top finisher for the Puget Sound, timing in 27:13.9. He placed 52nd out of 116 runners. Isaac Fournier finished 58th overall (27:25.3), and Ryan Engledow was 61st (27:30.8).

The Logger teams have two weeks to prepare for the Northwest Conference Championships, hosted by Whitman, October 28.
